Signs You Need to Upgrade to a Commercial Cleaning Service
|January 18, 2022
Depending on the nature of your business and a combination of many, many other factors, the supplies, tasks, and methods of cleaning required to adequately clean your facility or workspace may differ. This means that, if you’re failing to meet a certain standard of cleanliness at your place of business or work, the signs that you need to upgrade to commercial service will also differ.
Some signs that you should upgrade to a commercial cleaning service for your facility are obvious. Other times, they’re not so obvious, and may be more specific to the needs of you and your facility or business. And of course, sometimes, the cause for needing commercial services may be due to you…but that’s not necessarily a bad thing! Whatever’s the case, here are 5 signs you need to upgrade to commercial cleaning services:
#1: Business is Bad
Often the first sign that business owners or managers notice is when business is bad or declining. A dirty facility leaves a bad impression on customers and clients. When it’s affecting your bottom line, it’s time to hire commercial cleaning services.
#2: Operations Are Struggling
Similarly to declining business, a sign that you should hire out is when your employees’ productivity declines. A less-than-clean work environment can put your employees’ physical health at risk, and failing to keep their workspaces clean will make them feel undervalued, harming their mental health.
#3: You Can See You Need It
We buried this sign in the middle of the list for a reason. Perhaps you wouldn’t take as kindly to the most obvious sign that you need to hire commercial cleaning services, because anyone will tell you the same thing. If you can see that your facility isn’t clean despite the best effort of your maintenance staff, it’s time to hire out. Dirt, dust, stains, garbage, and various other contaminants are visual evidence. Oh, bad smells can be a sign, too!
#4: You Fail Municipal Inspections
Depending on your type of business and its nature of operations, your facility or workplace may be subject to certain municipal inspections. For example, if you own and/or manage a restaurant, your municipality’s health department will thoroughly inspect your location to make sure it’s a clean and healthy environment before issuing the necessary permits/licenses.
#5: Non-Maintenance Staff Get Involved
The idea that you may need to hire commercial cleaning services means that you’re handling your business or facility’s cleaning needs in-house, or even by yourself hopefully means that you have maintenance-specific staff and allocate the appropriate resources for their responsibilities. If that’s the case, then one sign you may not be seeing is when your other employees – non-maintenance staff – get involved in the cleaning tasks. If any of your employees complain about a dirty, messy, or smelly work environment and don’t see a change, they will naturally look to remedy their complaints by themselves. They shouldn’t have to, so keep an eye out for this!
