Religious Institution Cleaning Tips
|September 16, 2020
Religious institutions are a staple in virtually every community. In the same way we need grocery stores for our food needs, and doctors’ offices for our health needs, for many, their spiritual well-being is tied directly to their community’s place of worship. While this is obviously a beautiful fact, in the midst of a global pandemic, it’s also one that must be managed very carefully. Religious institutions are unique in so many ways, but it’s just as important as any other facility that they are kept clean and safe for all who use them, so they can use them with confidence and get the most out of their time spent honoring their faith. Here are religious institution cleaning tips, so you and all those who visit can truly feel at peace in one of their most important environments.
Clean the seating areas thoroughly
At the end of each day, be sure to clean every seat in the house thoroughly – particularly if there are pews that people slide in and out of. One good strategy to keep every surface clean for every visitor is to use tape to block off sections to keep worshippers six feet apart. Then, use reversible signs for each open seating area to signal if it is clean or dirty. Ask those who sit in them to flip them to ‘dirty’ before they depart, so nobody else uses them until they’ve been attended to. Once they’ve been cleaned, flip them back so the next attendees know the area is ready and available for use.
Don’t forget shared literature
If literature is shared amongst those who visit, make sure it’s disinfected between every guest. To do this, either combine it with the above strategy and disinfect them along with everything else in that section, or, keep a basket for ‘used’ literature to be returned to upon departure, and be sure to disinfect them again before placing them in a ‘clean’ basket for new-comers to grab on their way in. Either of these systems should ensure all literature is used only a single time before being treated for germs.
Consider electrostatic spraying
Electrostatic spraying is a technology-enabled cleaning method that can quickly, effectively, and comprehensively eliminate germs and give you total peace of mind. It works by distributing a specifically-formulated cleaning solution in the form of a mist to powerfully and thoroughly clean large spaces and ensure they’re thoroughly sanitized. Electrostatic spraying leverages the nature of electric charges to ensure complete coverage by atomizing the solution via an electrode within the sprayer, giving it a positive charge. Those particles then aggressively stick to surfaces – not passively covering them – as a result of this process. This means that even if an object is sprayed unevenly, it will still result in even coverage, giving you the confidence your space is truly and entirely cleaned.
Living through a new viral outbreak is full of new causes for fear and anxiety – emotions that people often bring to their place of worship to process. For that reason, it’s even more important to make these spaces available, and to do it safely so everyone can have comfortable access, especially when it may be needed the very most.
